What does it take to get a job at Google?
Google receives over one million resumes (that’s CVs to our UK folk) per year. Google reviews every resume it receives. Of those, they hire between 4,000 & 6,000.
0.1% > 0.4%
I love a good stat.

8 notesHow to make $250 a day (and get banned from the Android Market)

“A few weeks ago I did something which, in retrospect, was probably rather stupid. But it was surprisingly successful while it lasted. As I wrote earlier, I’ve been using Google+ since the day after it was launched. I myself received an invite from a stranger who was offering invites publicly. For this reason, I’ve been keen to share invites with anyone else who’s looking for one. I put up a post on this blog offering free invites, and got a huge response from the Android community. In fact, there were so many responses that it overwhelmed my email after a few days. There’s no way I could have kept up with the demand.”

6 notesThe Chromium Projects: UX
I had almost forgotten about Google’s Chromium project.
Check out the UI design area:

On the UX:
We avoid putting things into our UI in the same way you would hope that Apple and Microsoft would avoid putting things into the standard window frames of applications on their operating systems.

Google wants to tell you how to make your site faster
http://pagespeed.googlelabs.com/
Page Speed Online analyzes the content of a web page, then generates suggestions to make that page faster. Reducing page load times can reduce bounce rates and increase conversion rates.
